
What:
The Community Kit involves people outside the core site, encouraging them to contribute to building a healthy, vibrant, and positive community. It can unite leaders of different subgroups, forming a coalition to promote positive community interaction and community-wide activities and events. The kit contains all materials needed to guide community-building step by step: a Community Manual, Family Kit, Counselor’s Kit, and Media Training Kit. Additional Positive Action kits that community agencies and service providers may choose to use are Counselor, K-12 Instruction Curriculum, Drug Education Supplements, Family Classes Instructor’s Kit, and Climate Development.
Who:
Social workers, therapists, coalitions, health and welfare service providers, business/corporate personnel, faith-based organizations, community and youth program leaders, law enforcement officials, juvenile justice providers, judges, caseworkers, principals, teachers, counselors, and mental health professionals can benefit.

Across the nation and internationally, community agencies and service providers such as these employ Positive Action to meet their needs: schools, family classes, health and welfare agencies, faith-based organizations, school district community initiatives, juvenile detention centers, adult justice departments, homes, parks and recreation programs, alternative schools, social service agencies, public housing development operators, corporations, penal institutions, law enforcement, probation and parole, and Boys and Girls Clubs and other after-school programs.
When:
Positive Action community materials target every life stage from infancy and childhood to adolescence and adulthood. At any stage, Positive Action can positively affect the lives of children, youth, and adults throughout the community. These concepts are appropriate at any time and applicable to every situation.
How:
After assessing needs and determining goals, choose the Positive Action kit or kits that will work best. All toolkits are extremely easy to use, completely prepared, and easily adaptable to any situation. Select a Positive Action Coordinator and Committee to guide implementation, and begin training.
